A broadcasting desk and two cheerful presenters: breakfast radio at its best. Justus and Natasha, the two likeable hosts of Radio HITW 100.6FM, know how to entertain their esteemed listeners. But what is that? A radio station from Zimbabwe is also broadcasting on the German airwaves, perplexing Justus and Natasha with uncomfortable facts. While the two German presenters are chatting about their early-morning shower and cups of coffee, their Zimbabwean counterparts report that not a drop of water has come out of their taps for three weeks…

Initiated as an international coproduction with the Zimbabwean theatre ensemble IYASA, the play first premiered in May 2023 in Zimbabwe and in June 2023 in Berlin. Further developed and adapted, the production is now premiered again in each respective country. Conceived as a “radio play”, it forges connections between Bulawayo and Berlin, creating an emotional entry point to a complex topic. Courageous without being overwhelming. Optimistic, yet punchy. In the end, one thing is crystal clear: climate change affects us all.
